Healthier Margaritas

I love to ignore the nutritional content of the drinks I order when I'm out with some of my girlfriends, but eventually, the guilt kicks in. I have been trying to lose weight for a few months now, and the three pounds of sugar I drink throughout the weekend has not been helping. The problem is, I like my drinks so sweet that I can't even taste the tequila. I only want to taste the lime! My hunt for a way out of the weekly Sunday sugar coma helped me discover a few healthier margarita recipes. I loved it because I could customize my drinks and experiment with flavors. Here are a few margarita recipes I created in my cocktail science lab!

1 Spicy Pineapple Jalapeno Margarita

We love a balanced drink of sweet, sour, and spice. This drink embodies everything life is!

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup Sugar Free Jalapeno Margarita Mix
  • 1 shot Tequila
  • 2 TBSP of Pinneaple Syrup
  • 1/2 cup of ice
  • Jalapeno to Garnish
  • 1/4 cup sea salt
  • 2 tablespoons of Tajin

Directions:

  • Mix salt and Tajin and rim a margarita glass. In a shaker add Jalapeno Margarita Mix, Pineapple Syrup, and Tequila. Pour your Margarita into a glass with ice and enjoy!

2 Strawberry Key Lime Margarita

This cocktail is the perfect blend of sweet and tart for any night of the week.

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup of Sugar Free Strawberry Key Lime Margarita Mixes
  • 1 cup of Ice
  • 1 shot Tequila
  • Sugar for the rim (optional)
  • Strawberry Slice Garnish

Directions:

  • Rim a glass with sugar (optional). In a blender add Strawberry Key Lime Margarita Mix, tequila, and ice. Blend till slushy consistency. Pour your margarita into the glass and enjoy!

3 Cosmorita

We live for a cosmo and die for a margarita - why not have both?

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup of Margarita Mix
  • 1 cup of Ice
  • 1/4 cup Skinny Cosmo Mix
  • 1 shot Tequila
  • Sugar for the rim (optional)
  • Strawberry Slice Garnish

Directions:

  • Rim a glass with sugar (optional). In a shaker add Margarita Mix, Cosmo Mix, tequila, and ice. Pour your margarita into a glass with ice and enjoy!
