Healthy Soft Drink Alternatives

At the start of every year, we all set resolutions. As I write this blog, it's April, and I can say that for once, I actually kept my New Year's resolutions! My resolution this year had two parts, one to stop drinking and spending tons of money on soft drinks, and two to start drinking more water. Many of my friends love drinking water, but for me - it's a chore. Having to drink eight full glasses of water a day seemed impossible! I didn't think I would be able to keep up with my resolution until I thought about those flavored bottles of water I used to buy from the store. The problem lies in how expensive they can be, and I hate tossing out a bunch of plastic. One day, I was on TikTok when I saw someone add Skinny Syrup to water. I thought I would give it a go! Now I drink eight glasses of water daily, and I've said good bye to soft drinks.

Soft Drink Alternative One: Mermaid Water

This tropical flavored water is killer! I love that I can customize my drink by adding more flavor. You can use this recipe as a soft drink alternative or add a little syrup to some juice for those extra fruity vibes.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of water
  • 4 tbsp of Mermaid Skinny Syrup

Directions:

In a glass of ice water, stir in four tablespoons of Mermaid Skinny Syup. Enjoy!

Soft Drink Alternative Two: Blueberry Water

When we think of the term "healthy", we often forget about suppliments. Now more than ever, we need additonal antioxidants in our diets to stay feeling good!

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of water
  • 4 tbsp of Blueberry Burst + Antioxidants Syrup

Directions:

In a glass of ice water, stir in four tablespoons of Blueberry Burst + Antioxidants Syrup. Sip and enjoy!

Soft Drink Alternative Three: Lemon Elderflower Fizz

A flavor that really caught my attention was Lemon Elderflower. Elderflower is a popular flavor and ingredient in Europe and I remembered loving it when I visted England a couple years ago. Heads up - this flavor is also great in cocktails!

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of Soda Water
  • 4 tbsp of Lemon Elderflower Syrup

Directions:

Combine four tablespoons of Lemon Elderflower Syrup with one cup of soda water. Stir and enjoy!
